Laurie Benbow fished the Port Phillip Soft Plastics competition with wife Maureen in perfect conditions with a light southerly breeze. They fish approximately 1500m from the South Cardinal marker on the Altona Reef, from 3pm til just after dark. Around 40 Pinkies were caught with the largest being 37cm. Also, caught a Red Mullet on a soft plastic lure!
Steve Wright fished Corio Bay for a bag of whiting, flathead, and some Gummy Shark.
"Wobby" Buchanan reports that Lake Mulwala is being lowered. Some nice cod are being caught, with a 1.1m specimen disgorging 4 mice on capture. Evidence of the mouse plague in the area.
