John Wiltshire fished under the falls in the Hopkins River, trolling from his kayak for 3 Estuary Perch to 38cm.
John also fished the Swan Hill area over a week for around 40 carp, and only 1 Yellowbelly of around 35cm.
Nick Tamburro fished Rye over a 4 week period during the Christmas and New Year break. Early in the holiday good whiting were caught until the full onset of Jet Ski's churned the water and seemed to put the fish off the bite. Later on the snapper fishing improved with 10 snapper to 4kg caught in a number of early morning trips.
Darren Wise and Kira Kindekiros fished around St.Leonards and Swan Bay for whiting and a monster calamari of 4 1/2 lbs.
Glen D'Cruz fished Warnambool offshore. The first 3 trips they only managed Blue Throat Wrasse, and decided on a couple of days rest to work out a new plan of attack. They decided to drift in the deeper water and managed some nice pinky snapper. Then moving in closer caught 3 good whiting.
Ray Dellamarta fished with son Ryan in the Altona area for some whiting, salmon and a Seven Gill Shark. However, the fishing became too difficult with the wind increasing to get their bag limit of whiting.
"Wobby" Buchannon fished Lake Mulwala with son Andrew for 3 Murray Cod of 51cm, 52cm and 59cm. The magic bait was ..... small dim sims!
Adrian Smajila fished with family in Lake Jindabyne over the Christmas Holiday period. The fished was difficult with the hot weather putting the fish down, but they did manage over a dozen trout for the trip, mainly on downriggers and lead core line.
