Ray Dellamarta fished with Nick Tamburro and son Matthew from Rye with great results. Starting early they headed to the snapper grounds for 3 good fish of 5.0, 4.8 and 3.5kg, and 12 smaller fish, taken on squid heads and silver whiting.

After the change of tide, they headed to Nick’s favourite whiting mark, but not before having a drift for squid. Nine squid were caught in rapid time, but the before the lure of the whiting became too strong. And a good decision it was with 43 whiting caught – fish from 31 to 38cm. A great day!

Fishing the next day (Sunday), things were a bit quieter with only wrasse caught at Nick’s Portsea whiting mark. Five big squid were caught though.

Fred Hutchinson fished Lauriston Reservoir for 4 redfin, and reports that the track into the back of the reservoir is currently closed.

Rick Stevens reports catching good numbers of Slimey Mackerel at St.Kilda – and not just your normal bait sized fish. These were good eating size!

Maris Lakis and Karl Freeman fished a charter on Port Phillip. Unfortunately only small fish were caught. EAC life member Lindsay Sharpe and son were also on the charter.
