2014 Report and Results

The 2014 Inter Club Masters was fished by 6 angling clubs - last years winner Footscray Angling Club, Preston Angling Club, Greensborough Angling Club, East Keilor RSL Angling Club, Fawkner and Merlyston Angling Club, and the host club Essendon Anglers Club. A total of 44 anglers fished the competition which was a great turnout.

Fishing conditions were good, with fine weather and good water clarity for the lure fisherman. However, most teams struggled to put together a good bag, except Footscray Angling Club, where father and son team of Alex and Lucas Xuereb catching 7 quality fish between them. A great effort!

The results were as follows,

Preston Angling Club fished 14 anglers for 6 bream for a total weight of 2540grams. This equated to an average per angler of 181.43grams.

East Keilor RSL Angling Club fished 6 anglers for no bream weighed in.

Fawkner and Merlyston Angling Club fished 8 anglers for 2 bream for a total weight of 825grams. This equated to an average per angler of 103.13grams.

Greensborough Angling Club fished 7 anglers for 4 bream for a total weight of 1498grams. This equated to an average per angler of 214grams.

Essendon Anglers Club fished 6 anglers for 2 bream for a total weight of 618grams. This equated to an average per angler of 113.5grams.

Footscray Angling Club fished 3 anglers for 7 bream for a total weight of 2874grams. This equated to an average per angler of 574.8grams.

Note, the team average weight is a minimum of 5 anglers. So, the Footscray average per angler weight is the total divided by 5, not just the 3 anglers that fished.

Footscray Angling Club had the highest average per angler and were awarded the 2014 Inter Club Masters Trophy.

Heaviest bream was caught by Alex Xuerab of Footscray Angling Club at 610grams. This fish was also the heaviest catch and release bream.

Heaviest bag of bream was caught by Lucas Xeurab of Footscray Angling Club at 1523grams.
