Ray Dellamarta and Adrian Smajila fished on Saturday morning off Altona for a bag limit of 6 fish between them. Best fish being around 3.5kg.Fish were caught in under 45 minutes, and were still biting when they motored in.The following day Ray and Adrian fished with Adrian’s brother Glenn and it was a similar story though with a slightly better run of fish, the largest being a 5kg specimen caught by Ray Dellamarta. Again a bag limit of 9 fish were caught in under 45 minutes, and the fish were left biting.

Mick Kaksa fished well south of the Fawkner Beacon for a run of quality snapper, many over 5kg, with the largest weighed in by Kylie Kaksa at 6.4kg

Steve Wright fished Altona for 4 hours for no fish.

Laurie and Maureen Benbow fished off Altona near P2 for a bag limit of 6 snapper in 90 minutes of steady action. Fish to 3.5kg

Jack Maugher fished the Maribyrnong River and noted that the river was full of carp well downstream of the Anglers club, no doubt flushed down the river by the heavy rains and subsequent strong flush of fresh water.

Martin Corkill fished Eildon dam at Jerusalem Creek arm, and noted that the dam was a great site at 70% capacity – the highest it’s been in a long, long time. The only problem for fishing from the bank is finding a bit of clear water, as much of the lake perimeter has heavy vegetation that it now at and under the water level. The boat ramp is a popular bank angling spot as it is a clearing!
