Club Records

The Essendon Anglers' Club maintains a record of the largest fish of each species caught by a member. The capture does not have to be made during an official club competition, but the angler must be a member of the club at time of capture.

Until relatively recently, all records were based on the weight of the fish, which in practice meant that the fish would be taken and killed. With many members now wanting to return fish to the water alive, but still have significant fish recognised an additional record board was established, based on the length of the fish.

The original "Club Capture Records" are now known as "Weight Based Records" and the length based records as "Length Based Records". Both record types are open to members to submit a claim, and members are encouraged to do so!
