Eastern Fishing Bonanza!!!

Laurie & Maureen were lucky enough to get away for a few weeks to Narooma (NSW), Mallacoota and Bemm River.  They reported that the fishing was generally quite good, plenty of flathead and bream all taken on soft plastics and metal blades.

The weather caused a few problems at Mallacoota, with lots of rain during their second week which discouloured the lake and slowed the fishing considerably.

Pictured below is Maureen with a huge Dusky Flathead, caught and released at Mallacoota on a soft plastic lure cast on bream gear. The fish really fought hard and was at the boat four times before it was finally netted. It measured 88cm which may well be an EAC club record. I bet your arms were sore after reeling in that monster in Maureen!!!! Good work.

Pictured below is Laurie with a sand whiting that was surprisingly caught on a 75mm metal blade while fishing for Dusky Flathead at Narooma. Maureen's fish was bigger though.....

Pictured below is Laurie in the action again with a Bream which weighed in at 900gm and was 39cm long. It was taken at Bemm River on the shallow flats on a Squidgy wriggler. Good work Laurie, but Maureen still caught the biggest fish....!
